Previous cable speed was always around 100/4 with a speed boost which was thrown in for free by Telstra. Ping always around 9. Telstra currently have me on the NBN Tier 50 plan but when provisioning is finished within the next couple of days I will be on the premium speed boost. Broadband speed is largely determined by the network access type (ADSL, Cable, nbn™ etc.) so not everyone’s speed will be the same and you won’t always get the same speed all the time. NETWORK ACCESS TYPE MAXIMUM DOWNLOAD SPEEDS MAXIMUM UPLOAD SPEEDS ADSL Up to 8Mbps Up to 1Mbps ADSL2+ Up to 20Mbps Until today my upload speed test is still >9 Mbps – but sometime it drop to 8.3 – 8.7 Mbps at night. PS: I have feeling this is pre-NBN migration related. If you suggested that this higher upload speed was configured in exchange/CMTS – so will this impact the whole Telstra cable service in same suburb/area/esa ?
